Mount Training: How to Ride Your Ants Without Losing Them

How the Mount Trainer works, why rare ants fail more often and which ant to train.

Updated

Any ant can become a mount you ride around the map — but training can fail, and a failed ant is gone.

How to train a mount

  1. Take an ant out of the nest (placed ants can't be trained).
  2. Walk to the Mount Trainer — the cowboy ant near the centre of the map.
  3. Choose "I want to train this" and confirm.
  4. Success: you are riding the ant. Failure: the ant is lost.

The trainer's own warning: all ants have a chance to become mounts, rare ants have a lower success rate.

Is it worth it?

Mounts are mostly about movement:

  • Faster travel between your nest, the shop and events.
  • The Vine event climb becomes trivial.
  • Winged ants (like the Starwing Ant) hover over the ground.

A mounted ant no longer works in your nest, so it does not add income.

Which ant to train

  • Early: a spare Common or Uncommon — high success rate, nothing to lose.
  • Later: a duplicate Wheel Ant is a favourite. A winged ant looks the best.
